Steelscape Welcomes Three to Kalama Team
Kalama, Wash. - Steelscape, Inc., announces the addition of three new
employees to its Kalama, Wash. facility: Rebecca Brown, Quality Systems Engineer;
Mike Nelson, Safety Coordinator; and Robert Schuh, Logistics and Materials Manager.
Rebecca Brown has over four years of experience in the steel industry.
At Steelscape she is responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating
procedures and quality systems that are ISO compatible. Previously, she was the quality
assurance in technology manager for Northstar Steel in Beaumont, Tex. She received her
degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Utah.
Mike Nelson comes to Steelscape with nine years of experience as a safety coordinator.
At Steelscape, Nelson is responsible for the plant's overall safety program. Prior to
joining Steelscape he worked for Vanalco in Vancouver, Wash. as its safety
coordinator. Nelson earned B.S. degrees in microbiology from Montana State University
and in safety engineering from Montana Tech.
Robert Schuh's responsibilities include raw materials supply, finished product shipping
performances and developing customer programs. Prior to this he worked for Reynolds
Aluminum in Longview, Wash. as an operations supervisor. Schuh received his A.A. in
electronics technology from Lower Columbia College.
Steelscape, Inc. makes metallic coated and painted steel sheet and employs 500 people
at its facilities in Kalama, Wash. and Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Combined, the plants
produce 450,000 tons of steel a year. The company's products are primarily used in
the construction industry for architectural roofing and siding on homes; commercial and
industrial buildings; and large civic projects such as stadiums, convention centers and
