Resistance to Corrosion
The galvanizing action of TruZinc steel’s zinc coating provides protection
to cut edges, which are especially vulnerable to corrosion.
Formability
The zinc coating will not crack or peel during deep drawing and bending processes.
Weldability
TruZinc steel is suitable for a wide range of welding processes, including electric
arc welding; brazing; and the various methods of resistance welding - single spot,
projection, indirect spot, multiple-projection, seam and stud welding.
Appearance
A uniform minimum spangle covers both sides of the TruZinc steel sheet. The sheet is
readily paintable, yet remains more resistant to normal handling marks than zero-spangle
coated steel.
Smoothness
At the customer’s option, TruZinc steel can be skin passed, a process that results in
an exceptionally smooth sheet.
Coating Weights
If the application does not require long-term corrosion resistance,
G40 is appropriate.
With 1/3 more zinc coating, G60 provides additional protection. With its still
heavier coating, G90 is up to the challenge of more rigorous, long-term applications.
Off-Line Capabilities
Painting: TruZinc steel can also be purchased as a pre-painted. Our coil coating facility
is equipped to supply a range of quality paint systems designed for creative, long-life
performance.
