ZINCALUME® Steel, manufactured by Steelscape, is a metallic coated sheet steel, offering two to four times the corrosion resistance of galvanized steel. Its revolutionary aluminum-zinc coating formula consists of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon by weight.
ZINCALUME®, also known by the trade name Galvalume®, has a uniform spangled surface and can be readily bent, roll-formed or drawn. Durability, edge protection and resistance to crevice corrosion have made ZINCALUME® the building material of choice.
ZINCALUME® is also available with a clear odorless resin coating to produce ZINCALUME® Plus steel. This resin coating provides a beautiful finish while also meeting the handling and safety needs of roll-formers, service centers and installers. ZINCALUME® Plus enables installers to paint directly on the surface without a primer.
Steelscape produces ZINCALUME® and ZINCALUME® Plus at Rancho Cucamonga, California, which is accessible by both truck and rail.
ZINCALUME® comes with a 25 1/2-year warranty for most applications.
ZINCALUME® products meet the EPA Energy Star Cool Roof requirements for steep slope roofs and are third party certified by the Cool Roof Rating Council.
ZINCALUME® Plus also helps minimize staining problems associated with wet storage as long as proper storage techniques are used.
*ZINCALUME is not recommended for application in animal confinement buildings or in buildings where the steel comes in contact with soil, cement and/or concrete. ZINCALUME should not be used with lead, copper, graphite, moist or undried lumber, or chemically treated wood.
